INSTRUCTIONS FOR HARDROCK PENETRATING SEALER

PS1000

Notes

  1. Hardrock Penetrating Sealer will achieve resistance on most materials in 24 hours.

  2. Surface and air temperature should be a minimum of 50 degrees and a maximum of 90 degrees during the application and for the minimum of 4 hours after application.

Instructions

  1. Take precautions to avoid harm to nearby property, pedestrians, building occupants and non-masonry surfaces that may come into contact with the fumes, spray, or splash. Protect any surrounding painted surfaces, plants and non-masonry surfaces with a suitable masking material.

  2. Clean the surface to be treated with the appropriate Hardrock Cleaner. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely (approximately 24 hours) before applications of sealer/impregnator.

  3. Always test each surface to be treated before completion to insure the desired results to be achieved.

  4. Apply using a brush, roller, cloth, or low pressure airless sprayer. When applying to horizontal surfaces be certain to broom out excess material or puddles. On some very dense, polished stone, a light film may remain on the surface. Remove by buffing with a white pad or cloth.

  5. For horizontal surfaces apply in a single saturating application with enough material so that the surface stays wet for 2 - 3 minutes before penetrating. Some highly porous surfaces may require a second application to give the material full protection. If a second application is needed, wait 24 hours before applying.

  6. For vertical surfaces apply uniformly from the bottom of the surface to the top with enough material to saturate the surface and create a slight rundown below the contact point. Porous surfaces will require a second wet-on-wet application. Allow the first application to stand approximately 5 minutes before making the second application.

  7. Protect the treated surface for at least 2 hours after application. Provide cross ventilation and fresh air for a minimum of 8 hours on interior applications.
